Tim clearly has put together a top-notch team for this project. As I've mentioned before, Tim's Liberian friend Jay is our on the ground teammate. He is the one doing all the preparations in Monrovia. By the way, in the picture above you can see Tim on the back row right, Jay is just left of him.
Today we received a first draft of our day to day and hour to hour itinerary. Jay has it organized meticulously. More impressively, the number of people and the importance of these people Jay has lined up is staggering.
The second day we are there, Tuesday, we are tentatively scheduled to meet with
- President of Startz College of Science and Technology
- The Minister of Information, Republic of Liberia
- Ministry of Education for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)
- Assistant Minister of Labor
- Executive Director of Rights and Rice Foundation
Day two, Wednesday:
- Vice President of Liberia
- Human rights advocate
- Assistant Minister of State
- Honorary Ambassador
The fundraising is going very well. Getting closer to our goal. Heading down the homestretch. The big question is this: Will we reach our fundraising goal by the time we step onto our first plane Sunday morning?
